Product details
The Andra Ocean Guard Wave Tide Recorder SeaGuard WTR is a sturdy, durable, and powerful wave tide recorder developed based on the Ocean Guard platform. It can be used for self capacitive measurement of waves, tide levels, and temperature. At the same time, the instrument can also serve as a platform extension to add other measurement parameters such as CTD, ocean currents, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity. | ![]() |

· The measurement interval can be selected between 2 seconds and 2 hours · Ocean Guardian visualization software · Optional RS422 communication, real-time XML format data output · Can be used for both seawater and freshwater · Color touch screen board based on Windows system, which can easily configure instrument parameters without connecting to a computer · Output parameters: pressure, temperature, tide level, specific wave height, maximum wave height, average period, maximum period, energy wave period Raw measurement data of zero crossing period, wave slope, sea state irregularity, pressure, and water temperature |
The SeaGuard WTR uses a silicon pressure sensor 5218 to measure waves and tides, and the pressure measurement is obtained by temperature compensation of seawater measurement data through an advanced digital signal processor. |
The working mode of SeaGuard WTR is fixed installation, installed on the shallow seabed or on a fixed structure in the water. Typical applications include measuring waves and tides in ports, shipping meteorological forecasting, climate research, etc. The recommended installation depth for the wave tide gauge is 6-15 meters. The measurement of tides is the average value of fluid static pressure over a period of time (10 seconds to 8 minutes, set by the user), and the data update time is 2 seconds to 255 minutes. Wave measurement is the measurement of pressure time series over a period of time (64 seconds to 17 minutes, set by the user), with data update time ranging from 2 seconds to 255 minutes. |
The SeaGuard WTR has two battery compartments that can be used for long-term deployment and can use Andra real-time data acquisition software for real-time data collection. The Ocean Guardian tide gauge can be equipped with a conductivity sensor to calculate salinity, density, and sound velocity. |
